Meghalaya gov to upgrade civil hospital

Shillong, Mar 15 (UNI) Meghalaya's Health and Family Welfare Minister Deborah C Marak today said that the government run Civil hospital here would be soon upgraded and beds raised from from 400 to 600. This decision was made after the minister today visited the hospital to get the first hand knowledge of problem faced by this hospital.

Mrs Marak, who also interacted with patients in the hospital, told reporters that there are more rooms for improvements.

'' There is a shortage of manpower and the government will act fast in this to cater the need of the patients in the hospital,'' she said, adding that the government will try all its best to make civil hospital one of the best hospitals in the country.

When asked on shortage of medicines, Mrs Marak said she did not received any complaints from the patients in this regard, However, she said the government will also look into it.

Opposition stages walkout over question paper leakage issue

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 12 (UNI) The Congress-led Opposition staged a walkout in the Kerala Assembly today alleging that the government had not taken action against officials responsible for the leakage of the SSLC model question papers and the standard III and VII of the Sarva Shikha Abhiyan (SSA) question papers. Seeking leave for an adjournment motion in this regard, Mr K C Venugopal (Cong) alleged that the government had not taken seriously the leakage of the question papers and it was protecting.....

Governor calls on ailing Haji Buland Khan

Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor LT Gen (RETD) S K Sinha today visited the Government Medical College Hospital here and called on the ailing veteran Gujjar leader and vice chairman, Gujjar and Bakarwal advisory board Haji Buland Khan.
