Many security personnel killed in Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh

Jagdalpur, Mar 15 (UNI) In a major strike, Naxalites today attacked Ranibodi police outpost under the Katru police station area in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, killing many security personnel on the spot and looting their weapons.

Around 50 police personnel were present at the time of the early morning attack.

Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) R K Vij confirmed the attack but refused to give the exact number of casualties.

Unconfirmed reportes, however, put the figure of the dead at 20.

House condemns conduct of INLD MLAs

Sunni cleric announces bounty on Taslima's head

Lucknow, Mar 15 (UNI) A Sunni cleric of the hardline Bareillvi sect today announced a bounty of Rs five lakh on the head of acclaimed Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen, who is already facing threats at home by fundamentalists. Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, Imam of Ala Hazrat Dargah and chairman of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (Jadid group) announced the fatwa against Nasreen at Bareilly.
