LS adjourned till 1230 hrs over Nandigram incident

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Nandigram incident reverberated in the Lok Sabha today, forcing a second adjournment of the House till 1230 hrs.

As soon as the house began the day's sitting, agitated BJP-led Opposition members were on their feet shouting slogans, demanding the dismissal of the West Bengal government for the ''breakdown of law and order'' and the death of 12 people in police firing in Nandigram in Midnapore district yesterday.

Amid the din, Deputy Speaker Chiranjit Singh Atwal, who was in the chair, adjourned the house till 1200 hrs.

When the house re-assembled, the Opposition members trooped into the well of the house shouting slogans against the CPI(M) government in West Bengal and waving today's newspapers.

They also wanted to know from the chair why Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was not presiding over the proceedings today.

In the melee, the Deputy Speaker rushed through a few business matters slated for the day and adjourned the house for another half-an-hour till 1230 hrs.

Even as the BJP members were shouting slogans, the RJD members stood up and demanded that the house discuss naxal violence in BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh where about 30 security personnel were reported to have been killed early this morning.
