Khurana releases first list of 99 for next month's MCD polls

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti leader M L Khurana today released the first list of 99 candidates of his 'group' that would contest the forthcoming municipal elections jointly under the 'chashma' (spectacles) symbol of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD).

Announcing the list, comprising nine from the INLD and 90 from the BJS, former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana, along with Ajay Chautala, said his 'group' was aiming for a majority in the MCD elections which would give them a leverage during Delhi Assembly elections.

Mocking at the Congress and the BJP for not releasing their candidates' list ''just because he had not released his group's list yet'', Mr Khurana said people will teach both the parties a befitting lesson for ''betraying people's aspirations''.

Conceding that he wouldn't be able to make much of a dent in the Congress vote bank, ''at the most 15 per cent'', the Executive President of the BJS said the major chunk of his voters would be from the BJP's cart.

Stating that 'price rise' and 'destruction of Delhi' through Master Plan 2021 would be his party's election plank, Mr Khurana said both the Congress and the BJP were responsible for the downfall of Delhi and that soon he would tour all over Delhi to apprise the people of the 'real picture'.

''I would like to ask both the parties what did they do for Delhi during their rule. While the Congress broke the common man's back through rocketing price rise, the BJP caused the destruction of Delhi by not bringing the Master Plan in time.'' Mr Ajay Chautala while reiterating his ''unstinted support'' for ''Dilli's pujari Mr Khurana'' said INLD unconditional support for him was because of his concern for Delhi and added that the 'group' would fight the elections on all seats.
