Indian police probes Ali Bhai, Hassan Ali link

Dubai, Mar 15 (UNI) Indian Police are investigating into the connections between Hawala racketeer Syed Abid Hussain alias 'Ali Bhai', who was deported from here this week, and Pune-based horse owner Hassan Ali, involved in a multi million-dollar money-laundering racket.

Hussain was arrested at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

The 32-year-old Ali Bhai is known to have escaped from India to here in 2001 after a failed kidnapping attempt in Hyderabad, ''7Days'' an English daily reported.

Interpol issued an alert for him, following a request from the Indian police, who had been working hard to extradite him.

Ali Bhai was among the top ten most-wanted people in Hyderabad, the report said.

Mizoram to be corridor to the east

Aizawl, Mar 14 (UNI) Mizoram Governor Lt Gen (Retd) M M Lakhera has assured to soon transform Mizoram into a corridor to the east. Addressing the tenth session of fifth state Assembly yesterday, Mr Lakhera said the Centre under the 'Look East Policy' had agreed to take up two major projects for the economic deelopment of the state. ''Rs 7,459 million Kaldan Multi-Modal Transport project, will link the region with Sittwe port in Myanmar, providing a much-needed access by sea,'' he.....

Reports says Hinglish be part of English language

London, Mar 15 (UNI) There is a call for English taught in schools to take up a more global vocabulary. A report says hybrid languages such as Hinglish, a mixture of English and Hindi, and Chinglish, a fusion of Chinese and English, should be part of the curriculum. Instead of naughty, pupils could be told to stop being a 'badmash' and canteens might advertise 'machi-chips' beside the conventional description of fish and chips. CNF-SPDC peace talks begin tomorrow

Aizawl, Mar 14 (UNI) A seven-member delegation of the Chin National Front (CNF) will start negotiating peace with the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) of Myanmarese military tomorrow. The CNF has been fighting for the democracy of the people of Myanmar for the past two decades and took the initiative of holding talks for finding an amicable solution to the problem.
