House condemns conduct of INLD MLAs

Chandigarh, Mar 15 (UNI) The Haryana assembly today passed a resolution condemning the conduct of Opposition INLD members for stalling the proceedings and not maintaining the dignity and decorum of the House on March 13.

Speaker Raghubir Singh Kadian also warned the members that if they disturb the proceedings again, he would take action against them.

The resolution, moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala, was passed unanimously in the absence of the INLD members who had staged a walkout saying they were not provided adequate time to speak in the House.

The Speaker, who had to adjourn the assembly twice on March 13 due to slogan shouting by the INLD in the well of the House, said ''In spite of ample time and opportunities to speak and my repeated requests to these members, they did not maintain the decorum and dignity of the House and continued with their motive to stall the proceedings of the house.

Even yesterday, these members did not participate in the proceedings of the House, he added.

The Speaker said in case of attempts to interfere with the proceedings of the House in future, he would be compelled to take action against the erring members.
