Families of Naxalite attack victims to get Rs 2 lakh solatium

Jagdalpur, Mar 15 (UNI) Family members of Special Police Officers (SPOs) -- local tribal youth appointed on honorarium basis to assist security personnel -- killed in the naxalite attack in South Bastar of Chhattisgarh would get a solatium of Rs two lakh each, Director General of Police O P Rathor said today.

After visiting the spot, he told newspersons that the families of the officers and constables of the Chahttisgarh Special Armed Force killed in the incident would be given financial assistance. All of them had insurance cover also, he added.

Mr Rathor claimed that a large number of naxals were also killed in the encounter that followed after the rebels raided the police camp.

However, he did not confirm recovery of the bodies of slain ultras.

Three bodies of girl students recovered from river

Shimla, Mar 15 (UNI) The bodies of three girl students, who had gone missing on Tuesday from Jhajhar village of the district after appearing in an examination in Chakli Middle School, were recovered from a small river in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh today.
