Congress members stage walkout in assembly

Gandhinagar, Mar 15 (UNI) All Congress opposition members today staged a walkout in the state assembly during the debate on the demands of Road&Building Department in protest against the non-allocation of sufficient time to members to take part in the debate.

Congress whip Balwantsinh Rajput, who initiated the debate on the demands of the department, protested against allocation of only five minute time for the debate.

The congress members then walked out of the house in protest, demanding more time for the debate.

Meanwhile, R&B minister I K Jadeja started his reply on the demands of his department in the absence of opposition.

However, leader of the opposition Arjun Modhwadia and Chief Minister Narendra Modi were not present in the house when the walkout took place.

Three arrested in Mumbai in Sena corporator's murder case: Mhetre

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar in the metropolis, Maharashtra Minister of State Siddhram Mhetre informed the State Legislative Assembly today. The arrested have been identified as Ajit Rane, Pratap Godse and Krishna Salvi, Mr Mhetre said in response to a calling attention notice by leader of opposition Ramdas Kadam and others. IG CID to probe attacks on BJP workers in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil told the Legislative Assembly today that Inspector General of CID would probe into the attacks on two BJP activists in Pimpri-Chinchwad during the recent civic elections. SriLankan airlines starts flight to Jeddah, raises Goa frequency

Panaji, Mar 15 (UNI) SriLankan Airlines, since commencement of its operations to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia this year, has increased its service to 51 international destinations in 28 countries. The airlines had also decided to introduce the third weekly flight to Goa from March 30 this year and back with passenger occupancy almost doubled since it introduced bi-weekly flights to this international tourist destination from Colombo a few months ago.
