Admiral R K Dhowan new Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet

Visakhapatnam, Mar 15 (UNI) Rear Admiral R K Dhowan assumed charge as the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet from Admiral D K Joshi, at a ceremonial parade held at the naval dockyard here today.

An official release of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) said after inspecting the parade Admiral Dhowan met the commanding officers of ships and the fleet staff.

Later, he called on ENC Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice-Admiral A K Singh at the ENC headquarters.

Admiral Dhowan, a specialist in navigation and direction, had held a number of prestigious appointments afloat and ashore.

An alumni of National Defence Academy (NDA), Dhowan had undergone various courses in India and abroad.

For his distinguished services to the nation, he had been awarded the Ati Vishist Seva medal and Yudh Seva medal.

The outgoing Fleet Commander D K Joshi has been transfered to Naval headquarters at New Delhi as Assistant Chief Controller of Carrier Project, the release added.

GRSE pays Rs cr interim dividend
