Woman SI found hanging

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Mar 14 (UNI) A woman Sub-Inspector, attached to the Vridachalam police station, allegedly committed suicide last night.

According to police, 32-year-old R Sumathi was found hanging in the police quarters where she was staying.

Tension prevailed following the death of the woman police officer as public resorted to a blockade alleging that she was murdered and hanged by the family of another sub-inspector of police Murali, as Sumathi had a quarrel with the Murali's wife last night before she went to her quarters and closed the door.

Senior police officials intervened and persuaded the people to call off their stir.

A probe by the RDO was ordered into the incident and action would be initiated after the RDO inquiry, police said.

Seven arrested in flesh trade in MP town

Chhatarpur, MP, Feb 26 (UNI) Seven people, including a couple, were today arrested on the charge of allegedly running flesh trade from a house in a locality here, police said. CISF ASI commits suicide

Visakhapatnam, Mar 14 (UNI) A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) allegedly committed suicide by consuming poision in the city last night, police today said. T Someswara Rao (42) had a heated argument with a woman with whom he had an illicit affair. He took out a pesticide bottle and consumed the contents, police said. MP Budget to benefit contract teachers

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) Shiksha karmis and contract teachers would benefit by Rs 650 to Rs 1,700 per month as per the provisions of the the Madhya Pradesh Budget for 2007-08, presented in the state Assembly today by Finance Minister Raghavji.
