Two workers killed as mud wall cave-in

Rajahmundry, Mar 13 (UNI) Two workers were killed on the spot when the mud wall they were breaking cave-in at Kotha Kotapadu village in East Godavari district today.

The deceased were Karri Venkataramana (26) and Gundu Satyanarayana (35), police said.

In another incident, a 21-year-old man was electrocuted when the 11 KV power line snapped and fell on him.

The deceased was Srinivas alias Srinu hailing from Jegurupadu.

Meanwhile, one Venkanna alias Venkataramana succumbed to his injuries, after the auto in which he was travelling overturned near Alamuru road near Ganti village here this morning.

Indian couple to be tried for trafficking children

Dubai, Mar 1 (UNI) An Indian couple is set to stand trial on charges of trafficking children in what comes as the first case under the new law on human trafficking in the country. Puducherry, Mar 13 (UNI) Traffic on the East Coast Road (ECR) was affected since 0630 hrs today as fishermen from four coastal villages resorted to road blockades at four different places. The stir was to protest against the failure of the government to construct new houses for them, who were affected in the tsunami. Lankan Army plane crashes; trainer, instructor killed

Colombo, Mar 1 (UNI) A Chinese-built trainer aircraft of the Sri Lankan Air Force today crashed at Anuradhapura airfield killing the two personnel onboard. ''A Chinese-built PT-6 trainer aircraft of the Lankan Air Force crashed inside the Anuradhapura air base around 1215 hrs (local time) today.
