Twelve held for organising drinks party in Vadodara hotel

Vadodara, Mar 14 (UNI) Twelve youths, including two non-resident Indians (NRIs), were apprehended by the police following a raid on a hotel in the busy Nyay Mandir area here today for organising a drinks party.

The raid was conducted by the Raopura police on a tip-off that a group of people, belonging to some influential families, was allegedly betting on the world cup cricket.

The raid led to seizure of six bottles of liquor, ten cell phones, seven credict cards, one calculator and five vehicles worth Rs 2.50 lakh, besides Rs 14,000 cash, police said.

Cases have been registered against the youths under various sections of the Prohibition Act and investigations are on to ascertain whether they indulged in betting, police added.

Promotional package for micro

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) The Government today announced a promotional package for micro and small enterprises (MSEs) promising to raise the corpus of the Credit Guarantee Fund to Rs 2,500 crore in the next five years. The eligible loan limit under the scheme will be hiked to Rs 50 lakh and the credit guarantee cover from 75 per cent to 80 per cent for micro enterprises for loans up to Rs 5 lakh, Minister of Small Scale Industries.....

Best Bakery's Zahira Sheikh released

Nashik, Mar 14 (UNI) Gujarat infamous Best Bakery case flip-flop prime witness Zahira Sheikh was today released from the Nashik jail after completing her one-year sentence for contempt of court. Jail official Ashok Rane confirmed her release. Zahira completed her sentence on March 9 but her release was deferred on account of delay in delivering the Supreme Court's order waiving a fine of Rs 50,000 on her to the jail authorities. Earlier, the jail officials had declined to entertain fax copy.....

Lok Sabha adjourned till 1200 hrs over Mulayam issue

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party members in the Lok Sabha today accused the Congress of being responsible for the Supreme Court ordering a CBI inquiry against party president Mulayam Singh Yadav in a disproportionate assets case, and forced the adjournment of the House twice.
