TRS forces adjournment of AP House twice

Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) The opposition Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) today forced the adjournment of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly twice soon after it met for ten minutes and later for half-an-hour on the implementation of GO 610 (reservation to locals in employment) in Public Sector Undertakings and Corporations also.

As soon as the House met, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy said the TRS and AIMIM adjournment motion on the subject, TDP and CPI adjournment motion on allienation of government lands to private parties, CPI(M) on submergence of tribal lands under Polavaram project and Janata Party on extension of railway line from Karimnagar to Nizamabad, were disallowed.

Despite Speaker's assurance that the matter could be either discussed under Rule 74 or members could go to the Minister concerened and discuss it, failed to convince the adamant TRS members.

The Speaker expressed dismay that despite the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting deciding that the Question Hour should end at 1000 hrs, members were disrupting the proceedings of the House.

The TRS members rushed to the well of the House and climbed the steps leading to the Speaker's podium and raised slogans creating din. The Speaker repeatedly requested the members go back to their seats and allow the business to be continue.

Unable to take up the question hour, the Speaker initially adjourned the House for ten minutes.

Minor fire at Air India cargo complex in Chennai airport

Chennai, Mar 14 (UNI) A minor fire broke out in the Air India cargo complex at the Anna International airport here early today. Airport sources said the fire was caused due to a short circuit in the electrical line leading to the airconditioning units.
