Tigress dies of cardiac arrest

Junagadh, Mar 14 (UNI) Sakkarbaug Zoo, one of the oldest zoo in the state, lost a tigress.

Zoo Superintendent Ramesh Kalaria told UNI yesterday that 11-year-old ''Tohima'' died due to a cardiac failure.

The tigress had three cubs -- one female and two males and had been brought to the Sakkarbaug Zoo from Khanpur Zoo during 1998.

Out of the 17 tigers in the zoo, four are white tigers, Mr Kalaria said.

US says British troop pull out from Iraq indicates progress

Washington, Feb 22 (UNI) The Bush administration has described the British plan to pull out 1,600 of its troops from Iraq as another sign of progress in the coalition's strategy to strengthen Iraqi security forces. Agressive conversion will be tackled: British Met Police

London, Feb 22 (UNI) Britain's Metropolitan Police has assured the Hindu community here that it will take action against aggressive conversion techniques and intimidation being employed against young Hindu girls by radical Muslim groups in university campuses. This was announced yesterday at a conference organised by the Hindu Forum of Britain and the National Hindu Students Forum. Issues like Stop and Search and under-reporting of hate crime by Hindus will also figure as subjects of enquiry by a Hindu Safety.....

MP Assy to discuss Indore disturbances

Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly will take up for discussion tomorrow the issue of communal tension in the state's commercial capital Indore. Speaker Ishwardas Rohani made the announcement after Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi raised the matter during the Zero Hour.
