Thomas cook launches tour management course

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) Leading travel solutions company Thomas Cook India Ltd (TCIL) today launched a three month part-time certificate tour management course under its Centre of Learning initiative.

The 'World Tour Management' programme will provide training to the participants to become tour managers. The course covers all popular tourist destinations for international group tours as well as roles, responsibilities and challenges faced by a tour manager.

The programme is aimed at individuals having a graduate degree with an experience in handling events or groups. It is also open for TCIL employees.

The course also includes a special module for the travel management sector and will be conducted two hours each in six days.

The course fee per participant is Rs 30,000 plus service tax of 12.24 per cent.

Thomas Cook (Mumbai) Head HR Prasanth Nair said,''With the travel and tourism industry growing at more than 30 per cent per annum, it is a major step taken by Thomas Cook to create a talent pool for the industry and to provide individuals with professional training, imparted by a diverse and skilled faculty.'' IndiGo starts new daily services from Delhi to Mumbai, Chennai

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) Low-cost airline IndiGo today started operating its eighth brand-new Airbus A320 with daily non-stop services on Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Chennai sectors. It will improve connectivity between Delhi and Mumbai by introducing second non-stop service from March 26. IndiGo will also use this new aircraft to connect Jaipur to Guwahati via Kolkata. The airline now offers non-stop services from Delhi to Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Pune, Vadodara and Jaipur. It operates 52 daily flights.....

Senior official gunned down in Moscow

Moscow, Feb 20 (UNI) In a high-profile contract killing, unidentified gunmen last night shot dead the administration head of a prestigious district in south-western Moscow with his driver near the capital. The city police said Sergei Burkotov's car was making a turn on a highway south of the capital toward his country house, in the village of Lopatino, when it came under automatic gunfire. The attackers first killed Burkotov's driver Dmitry Samokhvalov and then riddled the car with bullets.....

Pak's National Assembly condemns terror attack on Samjhauta Expres

Islamabad, Feb 20 (UNI) Pakistan's National Assembly today condemned Monday's terror attack on the Samjhauta Express and asked the Indian authorities to expedite inquiry into the horrendous incident, ''which resulted in the loss of precious lives, mostly Pakistanis.'' ''The Indian government should expedite investigation into the tragic incident and bring culprits to justice,'' the 342-member House said in an unanimous resolution, moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sher Afgan Niazi. The resolution came after a statement by Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad.....
