TDP charges CM's relative with land grabbing

Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today charged Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's brother-n-law with trying to grab valuable land belonging to one Satya Krishna in Denduluru in West Godavari District with police help.

Making a Zero Hour mention in the Assembly, TDP MLA Achannaidu alleged Dr Reddy's relative was trying to grab 23 acre of valuable land belonging to Satya Krisha and when he resisted, he suddenly disappeared.

Even 15 days after the TDP and Satya Krishna complained to the SP, the police did not trace him.

The farmer suddenly resurfaced in the Nidadavolu Police Station and expressed apprehension that his life was in danger.

Mr Achannaidu wanted to know how Satya Krishna could resuface in a police station after an agitation.

Banks in AP Dist fix credit target

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 14 (UNI) Banks in this district today decided to lend Rs 3,660 crore for the year 2007-08. The Annual Credit Plan was released at a meeting of the bankers here. Of the targeted amount, priority sector will get Rs 3,000 crore. It was proposed to lend Rs 1,463 crore for crop loans and Rs 258 crore for agricultural term loans. CPI(M) wants power subsidy to weavers revived

Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) The CPI(M) today urged the government to revive subsidy given to weavers on power consumption stating they were the second largest community committing suicides after farmers.
