SS and HS schools to come under SSA

Itanagar, Mar 14 (UNI) All secondary and higher secondary schools in Arunachal Pradesh will be included in the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) from the next academic session.

State education minister Chowna Mein announced this while inaugurating a primary school at Taraso in Papum Pare district yesterday, sources said.

Mr Mein said the requirements of the schools would be looked after by the SSA and provisions would be made through the planning department when feasibility does not fall under the purview of the SSA.

Highlighting the policy on employment under SSA, the minister clarified that local youths were employed as teachers and posted in their respective areas to solve accommodation problems as there was no scope under the scheme to construct teachers' quarters.
