Protect rights of Jharkhand tribals: Brinda

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat today raised the issue of Jharkhand tribals in the Rajya Sabha, saying the Centre must protect their rights.

The state assembly has passed a resolution to decrease reserved seats for scheduled tribes from 28 to 21, she said during the zero hour.

The Centre should intervene to reverse this, said Ms Karat, adding antayodya schemes in Jharkhand must spread to check migration from the state.

Vietnam to consider freeing journalist: Post

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) The Government today said it would take all steps to ensure the speedy disposal of pending cases under the Industrial Disputes Act. Bandit chieftain Jagjivan Parihar dead

Morena, MP, Mar 15 (UNI) Dacoit chieftain Jagjivan Parihar, who carried a reward of Rs 5.5 lakh on his head, has been killed in an encounter in this district's Garhi Budhara village along with six other members of his gang, the police said.
