No leakage of SSLC question paper: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today clarified that there was no leakage of SSLC question paper and the confusion was created due to a printing error on the packets, containing the question papers of Arabic Part-I.

In the packets, containing the question papers, the subject was written in English as Arabic Part-II, instead of Arabic Part-I, thus creating a confusion that the question papers of tomorrow's exam had been leaked.

However, there was no leakage of tomorrow's question papers, the Minister said, adding that the Part-II exam would be held as per schedule.

Some candidates and teachers in a few centres at Kasargod, Kanjhangad, Waynad and Thalassery education districts went confused and even the examination officer concerned made a complaint to the Education Department, he told reporters here.

However, the government conducted an investigation and it revealed that the question papers had not changed and hence there was no cause for anxiety to the students and parents.

''Though, it was only a printing mistake but the government does not take it lightly. The government will take a decision against the printer later on,'' he said.

As 12 students of two centres in Panoor and Thalassery education district refused to attend the examination following the confusion, the government would conduct the same examination for them on March 30, he added.
