MP Assy to discuss Indore disturbances

Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly will take up for discussion tomorrow the issue of communal tension in the state's commercial capital Indore.

Speaker Ishwardas Rohani made the announcement after Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi raised the matter during the Zero Hour.

For the past couple of days, Mr Arif Aqueel (Congress) has been demanding the discussion on the issue.

Dr Sunilam (Samajwadi Party) demanded an immediate discussion on a police superintendent and other personnel canecharging a dalit's wedding procession in Chhatarpur district.

''Ten processionists were injured. The superintendent softened up after the dalits blocked a road in protest. The officer even agreed to pay money and dance,'' the member claimed.

Mr Ramnivas Rawat (Cong) raised the issue of unseasonal rain and hailstorm in Sheopur district and said that crop damage was extensive. ''I expect the government to issue a statement,'' he added.

Doctors' posts to be filled up in MP: Vishnoi

Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi today informed the Assembly that district collectors would be authorised to fill up doctors' vacancies in hospitals. Replying to supplementaries by Mr Ramlakhan Sharma (Communist Party of India-Marxist) during Question Hour, he admitted that several such vacancies existed. ''Besides creating posts, the government is also considering amending the recruitment process,'' the Minister explained. Assembly adjourned over compensation to rain-hit farmers
