Man sets ablaze cousin over land dispute

Vadodara, Mar 14 (UNI) A twentyfive-year-old youth was set ablaze by his cousin in Khakhanpur village of Anand district after he collected a few bags of earth from a disputed land of the family.

An angry Vikramsinh Ganpatsinh could not tolerate the act of his cousin Vikramsinh Chauhan and attacked the latter with the help of five of his friends and set him ablaze by pouring kerosene when he was asleep last night.

The victim, who had reportedly suffered more than 90 per cent burns, was later aditted to the SSG civil hospital.

Umreth police registered a case under sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 323 and 307 of the IPC against the six accused on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's father.

Police sources said all the accused were absconding.

Western Railway grants compensation to 143 blast victims

Mumbai, Mar 3 (UNI) The Western Railways' Fast Track Railway Claims Tribunal has so far granted compensation to 143 victims of the serial blasts that rocked Mumbai's lifeline on July 11 last year. As many as 169 cases of death claims were filed in the Fast Track Tribunal. Imphal, Mar 14 (UNI) The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has killed a man allegedly involved in the killing of an eight-year-old child. Container terminal at Kandla Port to begin operation on Mar 10
