Hurdles to Pakistani pilgrims' Ramlala visit

Ayodhya, Mar 14 (UNI) The wish of a group of Pakistani pilgrims to pay obeisance at the makeshift Ramlala temple here later this month may remain unfulfilled.

The district administration has expressed inability to provide adequate security to the 160 member Pakistani group in wake of the heavy rush during Chaitra Ramnavmi Mela on March 27 and 28.

The Uttar Pradesh government had directed the district administration for providing adequate security and boarding facilities, besides ensuring befitting welcome to the guests.

However, District Magistrate Amod Kumar had said it would not be possible for him to ensure safety of the pilgrims during Ramnavmi Mela, which attracts a large number of visitors, pilgrims and devotees.

According to official sources, the DM had suggested the visit could be rescheduled.

The Pakistani group's itinerary also includes Haridwar, Varanasi, Mathura and Agra, besides Ayodhya.
