Health centre medicines thrown in gutter

Chandigarh, Mar 14 (UNI) Haryana Health Minister Kartar Devi today told the state assembly that medicines at a Primary Health Centre in Mahendragarh district were thrown in a river and a gutter by doctors and officials.

The incident occurred at Nangal Chowdhary village of the district and action had been initiated against a Senior Medical Officer, a Medical Officer, a pharmacist and a multi-purpose health worker for alleged dereliction of duty, she said in a written reply during the Question Hour.

In another reply, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said there was no proposal under consideration of the government to give 50 per cent reservation to rural people in government jobs.

However, in Education department 50 per cent ''horizontal reservation'' in had been provided in all teaching category posts for those youths who had passed their matriculation from rural area schools.

Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies Savitri Jindal said a proposal was under consideration of the government to regularise the unauthorised colonies in the state.

Faridabad Municipal Corporatio had sent a proposal to regularise 22 colonies of Mewla Maharajpur area, she said in a written reply.

Khanduri voices concern over crop loss in Uttarakhand

Dehra Dun, Mar 14 (UNI) Expressing concern over the losses to crops due to inclement weather, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri today asked the departments concerned to prepare estimation reports so that compensation to farmers could be announced. He asked all the District Magistrates to prepare estimation reports on the crop loss and other properties due to the heavy hailstorm and rains that occurred yesterday, and provide compensations to farmers accordingly. Centre reduces M P's quota of BPL kerosene, wheat, sugar

Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said the Centre had reduced the state's quota of kerosene, wheat and sugar for distribution to weaker sections. Intervening in a discussion in the Assembly in connection with the new BPL list, Mr Chouhan said the government was committed to improve the condition of the poor and would ensure that those in the list were supplied ration at cheaper rates. Farmers exempted from irrigation tax, waived off power bills

Jaipur, March 14 (UNI) Farmers, who have lost more than 50 per cent of their crops, would be exempted from irrigation tax and would be waived off two months electricity bill. This was stated by state relief minister Dr Kirori Lal Meena amid noisy scenes in the House today. Dr Meena said those villages where more than 50 per cent crops have been damaged, will be exempted from payment of land tax. The goverment has also decided to write.....
