ECoR earns Rs.4166 crors revenue in eleven months.

Bhubaneswar, Mar 14 (UNI) East Coast Railway (ECoR) has earned a revenue of Rs.4166.65 Crores in originating basis due to increased freight loading and passenger carrying during the first 11 months of the current fiscal.

ECoR sources said during the period it has loaded 75.32 million tonnes of freight by registering an increase of 6.64 per centthan the corresponding period during last financial year and earned Rs 3719.31 crore On passenger front, ECoR has carried 46.70 million passengers by registering an increase of 15.05 per cent and has earned Rs390.78 crores, registering an increase of 17.07 per cent than the previous year.

The major commodities carried by this railway were 40.68 million tonne coal,16.36 million tonne iron ore, 2.54 million tonne finished steel and 5.30 million tonne fertilisers including cement.

Mizoram to be corridor to the east

Aizawl, Mar 14 (UNI) Mizoram Governor Lt Gen (Retd) M M Lakhera has assured to soon transform Mizoram into a corridor to the east. Addressing the tenth session of fifth state Assembly yesterday, Mr Lakhera said the Centre under the 'Look East Policy' had agreed to take up two major projects for the economic deelopment of the state. ''Rs 7,459 million Kaldan Multi-Modal Transport project, will link the region with Sittwe port in Myanmar, providing a much-needed access by sea,'' he.....

Reports says Hinglish be part of English language

London, Mar 15 (UNI) There is a call for English taught in schools to take up a more global vocabulary. A report says hybrid languages such as Hinglish, a mixture of English and Hindi, and Chinglish, a fusion of Chinese and English, should be part of the curriculum. Instead of naughty, pupils could be told to stop being a 'badmash' and canteens might advertise 'machi-chips' beside the conventional description of fish and chips.
