Drinking water is available at Re one per glass at railway station

Chandigarh, Mar 14 (UNI) A Zero B automatic water vending machine to provide safe and pure potable drinking water for commuters was installed at the Chandigarh railway station today.

The water vending machine, set up by Ion exchange (I) Limited in collaboration with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), was inaugurated by IRCTC Managing Director Dr P K Goel.

Through these vending machines quality drinking water will be made available at Re one per glass. Water will also be available at Rs 3 per Litre as compared to Rs 12- Rs 15 per litre packaged water available in the market at present.

Ion Exchange (I) Ltd. Vice President R S Rajan said Chandigarh and Ambala are the first in line where the project of zero B automatic water vending machines will be implemented. Next launch stations are Lucknow and Kanpur and in near future the project will be expanded to other parts of the country.

333 Keralites have Pak citizenship

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today informed the Assembly that 333 Keralites, who had Pakistani citizenship were residing in the state. In a written reply, he said Malayalees with Bangladesh citizenship were also residing in the state. Mr Balakrishnan said the government had also noticed that Bangladesh citizens were migrating illegally to Kearla. The government had issued necessary orders for a departmental inquiry into the issue, he added. UNI.....

Oppn walkout in protest against 'summoning assembly without reason'

Bangalore, Mar 14 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) leader J C Madhuswamy and Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Party leader Vatal Nagaraj today staged a walkout in the Karnataka Assembly alleging that the government was misusing the office of the Speaker and pressurised him to convene the House two days in advance without any specific reason. Raising the issue after the House assembled, the members questioned the reasons behind advancing the Budget Session by two days and said even the Speaker was kept.....

Remains of first century dwelling found near Kochi

Kochi, Mar 14 (UNI) Archaeologists have unearthed remains of an ancient dwelling dating back to the first century, which they believe will shed light on the urban life that existed in the region. The archaeologists of the Kerala Council for Historical Research excavated the priceless remnants, including bricks used for construction, brick-build well and a clay basin supposedly used for serving 'Anphora' wine from Chittattukara Panchayat in Paravur near here.
