Copper eases on sluggish demand by stockists

Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) Copper eased on sluggish demand by stockists, even as the London Metal Exchange remained steady, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In ferrous segment, copper heavy and copper utensils declined by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal due to thin buying support. Brass cuttings hiked by Rs 100 on increased of fresh demand.

In non-ferrous category, aluminium ingot and zinc slab fell by Rs 100 each on poor demand, while copper wire bar slashed by Rs 200 per quintal on increased of offers by stockists.

Tin slab and Nickel Cathode remained steady on moderate demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 31,800, copper utensils - Rs 29,500, brass utensils - Rs 23,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,100 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 35,100, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,300, zinc slab Rs 18,200, lead ingots - Rs 8,500, tin slab - Rs 700 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 2,140 (per kg).

MTNL posts revenue loss due to accounting failure

Sugar prices steady in Kolhpur

Kolhapur, Mar 15 (UNI) The prices of M-30 and S-30 grades of sugar today remained steady to Rs 1,395/1,400 and Rs 1,385/1,390 per quintal respectively. The rates in the Kolhapur gur market ranged between Rs 1,300 and Rs 2,100 per quintal. Metal prices rise on sustain heavy buying support

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) Ferrous and non ferrous metal prices today rose on sustained heavy buying support from industrial users in view of firm advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said today. In ferrous segment (per quintal), copper heavy and copper utensils hiked by Rs 700 and Rs 500, respectively, on higher advice from LME.
