Replying to the budgetary demands pertaining to General Administration, Police, Home, Public Relations, Science and Technology, Mr Chouhan said several welfare schemes -- like Suraj Mission, Kanyadan, Deendayal Upchar Yojna and Vivekananda Beema Yojna schemes -- had been launched.

Efforts had been made to resolve people's problems through initiatives like Samadhan Online, Lok Kalyan Shivir, Manthan and Jan Darshan. The speed of resolving people's problems had increased four-fold.

He said LOC system had been done away with following suggestions during 'Manthan' workshop, meant for bureaucrats, while procedures related to tender and recruitment on compensatory grounds had been simplified.

The Chief Minister said his party did not consider a particular community its vote bank. He said attempts to instill fear in a particular community and disrupt communal peace will not be allowed to succeed.

Assuring that no discrimination would be made on religious grounds, he said it would be ensured that all segments were benefitted equally by government schemes.

He described the opposition's allegation that the government won the recent by-polls by using brute force as an insult to the electorate.

He said atrocities against women, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes had come down.

Referring to petrol scam, he said two letters had been sent to the CBI for investigation.

Besides, inquiry was being conducted in connection with the irregularities during 'Sinhast' against 56 government officials.

Strict action would be taken against those found guilty.

Referring to comments made during discussion on Narmada Valley projects, he said the previous government had built 90 MW power generating capacity in 10 years but the present government had achieved 1,836 MW power generating capacity in the past three years.

Besides, Omkareshwar project was completed one year before schedule. The project will provide 520 MW power.

He said the government had done a great deal towards the rehabilitation of Sardar Sarovar affected. Its work was appreciated by the Shunglu Committee and a committee of three central ministers.

The Chief Minister said necessary steps were being taken to upgrade Bhopal, Indore and Khajuraho airports to international standards. Free training would be provided to SC and ST aspirants for selection to the posts of air-hostess and stewards.

Regarding allegation of blackmailing of journalists, he said such comments amounted to insult journalist community. Mr Chouhan said provisions were being made in the public relations policy to provide better facilities to journalists.
