Citizenship of Subba to be decided by court not Parliament:Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) A meeting convened by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee with leaders of various political parties today unanimously decided to leave the issue of the citizenship of Lok Sabha member Moni Kumar Subba to the court.

Disclosing this at a press conference, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said there was a consensus among the leaders that either the Election Commission or the Court should resolve the membership issue of Mr Subba.

The court was already seized of the matter and Parliament should not encroach upon the court's power, he said.

Four of family killed in roof collapse

Jalandhar, Mar 14 (UNI) At least four members of a family, including two children, were killed while two others were injured when the roof of their house collapsed at village Lamba Pind near here today. Srinagar, Mar 14 (UNI) The 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, life line to Kashmir, remained closed for the fourth day today resulting in acute shortage of essential commodities in the valley.
