CCL CMD elected SCOPE board member

Ranchi, Mar 14 (UNI) Chairman-cum-Managing Director Of Central Coalfields Limited(CCL) R P Ritolia was elected Board member of the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises(SCOPE), an apex body for the public sector undertaking.

According to CCL release here today, the SCOPE had played vital role in projecting public sectors on various fora.

Mr Ritolia was also the president of Mining, Geoloigical&Metallurgical Institute of India.

The CCL had earned a profit of Rs 1165 crore during 2005-06 under the leadership of Mr Retolia, the release stated.

Zeliangrong students to stage protest in Kohima on Friday

Kohima, Mar 14(UNI) The Zeliangrong Students' Union of Nagaland(ZSUN) and All Zeliangrong Students Union(AZSU) will stage a 'dharna' in Kohima on March 16 as part of the second phase of agitation against non-implementation of various demands by the state government. Islamabad sealed off ahead of SJC hearing against Justice Chaudhry

Meghalaya reschedules power cuts for cricket lovers

Shillong, Mar 14 (UNI) Cricket lovers and students in Meghalaya got a breather after the state government decided to reschedule load-shedding from today. Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Power Dr Mukul Manda Sangma told reporters yesterday that power cuts would be would be restricted to three hours from 0300 hours to 0600 hours to allow cricket lovers watch the World Cup and the students prepare for the various examinations.
