Case filed against two on Chappel visit: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) The Kerala Assembly was informed today that a case has been registered against a houseboat owner and another person for suppressing information about the recent four-day visit of Indian Cricket team Coach Greg Chappel to Alapuzha.

In a written reply, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the case had been registered under Section 7(1)(4)-14 of the Foreigners Act.

Chappel stayed at a houseboat for three days from February 21 and also visited the house of paceman Sreesanth.

According to sources, though it was a private visit, the houseboat owners had to furnish details of the trip of a foreigner on the prescribed format at the nearest station.

His visit came to police's notice by an auto-rickshaw driver.

Five killed in two separate accidents

Machilipatnam, Mar 14 (UNI) Three people, including two women were killed when the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Chilakalapudi near here today. Police said the deceased were not identified and the bodies were shifted to the government general hospital here for post-mortem. In another accident, two persons were killed, when the motor-cycle they were travelling on collided with a truck at Kanchikacharla in Krishna district late last night. Physically enabled people protest against Cauvery Tribunal verdict

No leakage of SSLC question paper: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 14 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today clarified that there was no leakage of SSLC question paper and the confusion was created due to a printing error on the packets, containing the question papers of Arabic Part-I. In the packets, containing the question papers, the subject was written in English as Arabic Part-II, instead of Arabic Part-I, thus creating a confusion that the question papers of tomorrow's exam had been leaked.
