BSNL launches new scheme 'lage Raho BSNL ke Saath'

Panaji, Mar 14( UNI) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today launched a new scheme ''Lege Raho BSNL ke Saath'', to talk free within Goa and local mobile with BSNL network with addtional rental of Rs 99 per month.

The scheme will be effective from March 16.

Interacting with mediapersons here today, BSNL Goa, General Manager Mr A K Desrkar said this will help expansion of subscriber base.

Desrkar also launched a scheme ''Khelo World cup cricket BSNL ke Saath'' wherein customers can enjoy live commentary at Rs 1/Minute and get free sms alerts during entire World cup only for Rs 49.

BSNL also offers premium ring back tone services for mobile customers, who want desired songs as the ring back tone or gift to some of their friends. the monthly charges are Rs 20 and download cost is Rs 9 (non premium) and Rs 12 (Premium). the dialing code is 567 for registration, mr Desrkar added.

He said BSNL will also introdce the gaming service in broadband, with the charges for standard Package at Rs 100 per month and Premium Rs 200 per month.

Over 1 cr tourists visited Gujarat last year

March 14 (UNI) Over one crore domestic and international tourists visited Gujarat during the past one year, according to a state tourism department release here today. The Gujarat Government had observed 2006 as Tourism Year and over 1.20 crore tourists had visited the state last year. The number of tourists to the state in the previous year was a little over 95 lakh, the release said. UNI.....

Man gets 5 yrs RI for raping minor

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a man to five years rigorous imprisonment for raping a 13-year-old minor girl in 2005. Additional sessions judge K U Chandiwal also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Tarachand Nevale (30) or else an additional six months rigorous imprisonment. According to the prosecution, the accused had on June 28, 2005 kidnapped the victim from Shivaji Nagar at Govandi in and taken to a guest house in Mankhurd, where he kept her.....
