Bomb hoax at APSRTC headquarters

Hdyerabad, Mar 14 (UNI) Panic prevailed at the Bus Bhavan, the state headquarters of Andhra Pradesh State Raod Transport Corporation (APSRTC), here today following a bomb threat call which turned out to be a hoax.

Police said the Bus Bhavan Control Room received an anonymous call stating a bomb had been planted in the office and it would go off at any time.

All employees were evacuated from the premises and searches conducted. Police dog squad was also pressed into service.

Progressive budget with stress on development: Jhunjhunwala

Mumbai, Feb 26 (UNI) The Railway Budget for the year 2007-08 is a progressive one with emphasis on development, said Commodities Market President K F Jhunjhunwala today. Every year in the past, there had been some increase in prices, but this year the budget is very good with a cut of 60 per cent in luggage and parcel fares, Mr Jhunjhunwala said. Two persons killed in a road mishap

Krishnagar, Feb 26 (UNI) At least two persons were killed and three others critically injured when a truck overturned near Gede on the Indo-Bangla border here today. Police had attributed the incident to the bad condition of the roads. According to sources, CPWD was carrying construction work but the condition of the road deteriorated following yesterday's downpour. Driver of the truck, Bharat Biswas(29), died on the spot.
