Srinagar, Mar 14 (UNI) Directing the Divisional Administration, Kashmir to be more responsive, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has asked the officials to put in all efforts to relieve people from difficulties being caused by untimely heavy snowfall and incessant rains.

During his extensive tour of Srinagar' the Chief Minister was given first hand information of the difficulties let loose by the vagaries of weather by personally witnessing the ground situation and interacting with a large number of people in these areas.

He asked officers and concerned functionaries to leave no stone unturned in restoring all essential public services. He stressed on focusing attention on dewatering operations in low -- lying areas in the city and the towns where accumulated snow and rain water has cuased inconvenience to the people.

He directed the mobilisation of all pumping stations and mobile pumps available with various departments including fire and emergency services department so that dewatering could be carriedout on a war footing.

BJP leader demands CBI probe in its chargesheet

10-year-old heart patient dies in front of SP office

Lucknow, Mar 14 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a 10-year-old heart patient died in front of the ruling Samajwadi Party office here in the absence of timely medical care. Neeraj had a damaged heart valve and his family was not in a condition to afford his treatment. Neeraj's father Tarachand of Jhusi in Allahabad district, alleged he came here to obtain necessary financial help from the ruling Samajwadi Party, but was instead manhandled by the party functionaries. Aulakh is Punjab DGP

Chandigarh, Mar 14 (UNI) The Punjab Government today appointed N P S Aulakh, a 1972 batch officer of the Punjab cadre as state Director General of Police (DGP), an official release here stated. Mr Aulakh on return from central deputation will succeed Mr R S Gill, who has been posted as DGP-cum-Director General of the Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur against a vacant post. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal after assuming charge on March two had announced the appointment of Mr Aulakh.....
