Bajaj Allianz to concentrate on health insurance product in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Mar 14 (UNI) Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company today announced that it will concentrate more on health insurance product in Gujarat to provide customised insurance solutions to masses in the next financial year.

Briefing reporters here, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance chief executive officer Sam Ghosh said the people of Gujarat are very health conscious, hence this product will play a major role in the state.

''In our various products, we have sold over one lakh policies in the state and collected a premium amount of Rs 250 crore till today,'' he said.

Mr Ghosh said Gujarat contributes about 15 per cent of the company's total business in which about 5 to 6 per cent contribution was from Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

With demand from the customers across the country, specifically from the non-urban markets, the company has spurred a new joint venture partnership ''Bajaj Allianz Financial Distributors'' to attend to other consumer-specific financial products like mututal funds, credit cards and home and personal loans, he added.

Rupee ends softer at 44.24/25 against USD

Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) The spot Rupee today closed lower at 44.24/25 per US dollar against its previous close of 44.20, dealers said. They informed that ''Rupee ended off lows as dollar sales from exporters prompted liquidation of dollars by banks.'' The spot Rupee fluctuated in a narrow range between Rs 44.25 and 44.35 in the intra-day trades. There was modest dollar buying support from exporters and bankers.
