Arrangements in place for Urs at Sirhind

Fatehgarh Sahib, Mar 14 (UNI) An estimated 10,000 devotees from the country and from Pakistan and other countries will participate in the annual three-day Rouza Sharif Urs beginning from March 17 to 19 at the tomb of Sufi saint, Sheikh Ahmad Farooqui in Sirhind.

This shrine is considered one of the holiest places in Islam.

According to district administration officials around 250 pilgrims from Pakistan are expected to pay obeisance at the shrine.

Muslims from Gujarat, Mumbai, Surat, Uttar Pradesh and other parts of India are also expected to visit the shrine.

The administration has made elaborate arrangement for the holding of the Urs in front of Baba Moti Ram Memorial Trust building near Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.

Ruckus in Assembly over allocation of funds to colleges

Foreign ministers from 7 Islamic countries to meet tomorrow

Islamabad, Feb 24 (UNI) Foreign ministers from the seven Islamic countries will meet here tomorrow to discuss strategy for resolving the West Asian crisis, particularly the Palestine issue. India provides assistance to Nepal and UN Office Nepal

Kathmandu, Feb 24 (UNI) Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee today handed over vehicles, communication equipments, food materials, tents and generators to Nepal Home Minister Krishna Sitaula and UN country chief Ian Martin here.
