AIMIM member complains on govt hospitals

Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) AIMIM MLA Mohd Mustada Khan today complained in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly that government hospitals in the city and the one in Golkonda in particular lacked staff, equipment and medicines.

Making a Zero Hour mention, he said women stopped going to the Golkonda Hospital as there was no lady doctor. He alleged even the poor were being asked to buy medicines and added during emergencies, ambulance was not available and when it was, drivers were complaining there was no fuel.

The AIMIM member complained that most of the government hospitals in the city lacked equipment and there were no scanners in most of them.

India, Pakistan to maintain Samjhauta passengers' record

Islamabad, Feb 28 (UNI) India and Pakistan have jointly drafted a new procedure to issue tickets to Samjhauta Express passengers to maintain a proper passenger record, in the wake of the February 19 blast in the peace train. The railway authorities of both countries have decided to maintain a proper record of all the passengers of the train, an official statement said. The authorities in both countries decided that the Pakistan ticketing authority would issue tickets only from Lahore Railway.....

Couple killed in car-lorry collision

Chennai, Mar 14 (UNI) A middle-aged couple was killed on the spot and three injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at an overbridge in suburban Chromepet early today. Police said the deceased identified as Ahamed (50), his wife Kasa Beevi(44), were on their way to Koyambedu when the mishap occurred. The lorry driver jumped out of the vehicle and fled from the spot, police said adding the injured were admitted to the Government General.....

India denies withdrawal of tariff concession to Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 28 (UNI) Indian High Commission in Pakistan has categorically described the local media reports as incorrect, which suggested that India had unilaterally withdrawn tariff concessions extended to Pakistan under South Asian Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA). ''It has been wrongly reported in various newspapers of Pakistan,'' The News quoted an official statement issued by the high commission as saying. Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath while addressing a press conference in Kathmandu at the meeting of the Safta.....
