3 women killed in road accident

Bahraich, Mar 14 (UNI) Three women, of the same family were killed, when a truck overturned and hit them in Civil Lines area here this afternoon.

Police said the truck driver lost control over the wheels, following which the vehicle turned turtle, hitting three pedestrians, who died on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Krishna (60), her daughter-in-law Arti (28) and daughter Shalu (10). Another person was also injured.

The truck driver is absconding.

A case has been registered.

Three die, six injured in boiler burst; probe ordered

Gurgaon, Mar 14 (UNI) Three people were killed and six seriously injured when a boiler burst at a furniture factory on Berhampur road near Gurgaon today. District Magistrate Rakesh Gupta has ordered a probe into the incident. The incident took place at around 1530 hrs, when workers were busy in the boiler room of the wood moulding furniture unit. Amritsar, Mar 14 (UNI) Two Punjab Police personnel were killed and two others injured after their jeep collided with a DMU on the unmanned railway crossing between Rataul and Daburji villages this evening, police here said. The victims were in the escort vehicle of Tarn Taran MLA Harmit Singh Sandhu. They were on their way to Tarn Taran when the mishap occurred.
