3 NSCN-IM cadres killed in Naginimora

Kohima, Mar 14 (UNI) Three NSCN-IM cadres were killed in Naginimora town under the remote Mon district of Nagaland yesterday, official sources said here today.

Police recovered three bodies of the self-styled town commander, second commandant and a bodyguard with their hands tied near the Saturday market.

The sources said the police suspected that the cadres were lifted from their houses and shot dead.

However, NSCN(K) sources said they were compelled to kill the cadres following complaints from people that the cadres were indulged in extortion and harassments.

The NSCN(K) recovered one AK-47 Automatic Rifle and a Self- Loading Rifle from their possession.

Opposition boycotts Bihar assembly

Patna, Mar 14 (UNI) Boycott of Bihar Assembly proceeding by the Opposition, barring Samjawadi Party, continued for the second day today demanding withdrawal of a censure motion adopted in the House on March 12 as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made an impassionate appealy to end the boycott. The censure motion was passed against some Opposition members who had snapped microphone wires and damaged furniture in House to vent their anger over the state government's failure to nab the culprits responsible for.....

In Jharkhand, WB and Orissa Anti-insurgency joint operation

Jamshedpur, Mar 14 (UNI) Senior police officials from Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa today chalked out a joint strategy to strengthen the counter-insurgency operation in the border districts of the three states following the assassination of Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahto by the outlawed CPI (Maoist)activists. A joint meeting here, was attended by Jharkhand Additional Director General (Special Branch) G S Rath, Inspector Generals (Operations and Zonal) D K Pandey and Ashok Kumar Sinha, Inspector Generals (Operations) from West Bengal and Orissa.....

Nandigram flareup claims 14;Opp parties' bandh on Mar 16

Nandigram, Mar 14 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and 50 injured when police fired upon villagers resisting the law keepers from entering the embattled area in a major flare-up in Nandigram of East Midnapore district today. While 13 people, including a woman, were killed in police firing, a villager died after a bomb he was about to hurl, burst in his hands, official sources said. Of the injured 14 were policemen.
