19-yr-old arrested for trying to rape pregnant woman

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) A 19-year-old has been arrested by the police for allegedly trying to rape a pregnant woman, whose husband works in a multi-national company, in Sarai Rohilla area of North Delhi.

Accused Nanu Gupta, tenant of the victim, who lived next door tried to outrage the modesty of the woman at about 1130 hrs yesterday when nobody was at her Padam Nagar home in Sarai Rohilla, said sources.

After failing in his attempt, Nanu stabbed the woman on her neck and face. She also received cut injuries on her fingers while trying to save herself.

However, the accused, a tailor by profession, was later arrested.
