Two more fast track courts installed here

Barrackpore, Mar 13 (UNI) A pair of fast track courts for the additional district and session judges has been installed at the sub-divisional court complex here, bringing the number of fast track courts here up to six.

District Judge Bandana Roy formally inaugurated the courts here yesterday and hoped that with two additional fast track courts the sub-divisional court would be able to dispos-of pending cases rapidly.

Incidentally, none of the participants at the function could tell how many cases were pending either in the sub-divisional court here or in the district as a whole so far.

The judiciary had established only 15 fast track courts here in North 24-Parganas, since the policy of installing fast truck courts was taken up six years back.

Two more fast track courts would be installed in other parts of the district within a day or two, court source here said.

Bomb hoax disrupts train serives at Sealdah Stn for hours

Kolkata, Mar 13 (UNI) A bomb hoax disrupted train services at the Sealdah station for two hours today following the detection of an unclaimed bag in the general compartment of the down Gede-Sealdah local train. HC orders shifting of trial of MP to Patna

Patna, Mar 13 (UNI) The Patna High Court today ordered to shift the trial of a murder case pending against JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh from Bhagalpur sessions court to Patna and conclude it within three months. A division Bench comprising Justices Aftab Alam and Samrendra Pratap Singh passed the order on a habeas corpus petition filed by Harendra Rai in connection with alleged kidnapping of his mother Lalmuni Devi by the henchmen of Mr Singh. Jabalpur counsellor dies in Safdarjung hospital

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) A Madhya Pradesh counsellor, who was set ablaze on March 6 in a local hospital in Jabalpur by a patient, died here last night, doctors said. Sanjay Shrivastava, who had sustained 80 per cent burns, died in Safdarjung Hospital here 2130 hrs yesterday. A report from Jabalpur said Shrivastava was doused with kerosene and then set ablaze by Kaushal Kishore Jaiswal, who was a suspected AIDS patient, in the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College.....
