Two-day 'IndieFocus' film festival to begin in Mumbai from Mar 16

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Baiscope Entertainment Educational Society, an NGO involved in encouraging individuals to make a mark in the film industry is celebrating its first anniversary with 'IndieFocus', a film festival of Independent Cinema from across the globe.

The two-day festival to be held from March 16 tO 18 at PVR cinemas in Juhu, North West Mumbai, will have a panel of eminent directors like Anurag Kashyap whose film on 1993 Bombay blasts 'Black Friday' released last month and Oscar winning Directors from abroad, a release issued here yesterday said.

Baiscope Entertainment is the first of its kind non profit NGO (Non Government Organization) of and for the Indian Entertainment Industry. It aims at providing support, opportunity and guidance to individuals aspiring to make a mark in film industry. One of their key activities has been their monthly knowledge sharing workshops called 'IndieFocus' conducted by filmmakers and technicians like Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Kashyap, Amitabh Shukla and Gitanjali Rao, among others.

IndieFocus will feature an impressive line up of films (documentaries, feature and shorts) and filmmakers from across the world.

Academy Award Winning Filmmaker Danis Tanovic (of No Man's Land fame) will walk the red carpet on the opening night of IndieFocus.

The festival opens with the screening of his new film 'Hell'. He will also interact with the audiences after the screening.

Some of the films in the IndieFocus platter include 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped' by director Jacques Audiard, 'L'Enfant' by director Jean-Pierre Dardenne, 'A Bellyful of Dreams' by director Prakash, 'Padma Nadir Majhi' from director Goutam Ghose and an interesting mix of Shorts featured in the Shortscape section, the release added.

Zydus Cadila receives USFDA nod for Paroxetine Tablets

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) Cadila Healthcare Ltd today said it has received approval from the US FDA to market Paroxetine Tablets, with an estimated global sales of 850 million dollars. The drug, an anti-depressant falls in the CNS segment. The company will market the drug through its subsidiary Zydus Pharmaceuticals (US) Inc. This marks the 19th ANDA approval for the group since the commencement of filing process in FY 2003-04. So far, the group has filed 46 ANDAs.....

'The Deserted Station' and 'Reyhaneh' screened at MAMI

Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) The on-going MAMI festival in the city saw a focus on Iranian filmmaker Alireza Raieesian as two of his great works 'The Deserted Station' and 'Reyahaneh' were screened during the festival. NDTV in pact with Com Ventures to invest $20mln in UK arm

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) has signed an agreement with Com Ventures VI for investing 20 million dollars in its UK-based subsidiary. The investment will be made in its wholly-owned arm, NDTV Networks Plc UK, a statement said. NDTV group's new business initiatives worldwide comprises entertainment, lifestyle, convergence, outsourcing, new channels planned in different countries and software or technology development.
