Tiwari to be MP CIC

Bhopal, Mar 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh's Principal Secretary (Law) P P Tiwari has been chosen for the post of the State Chief Information Commissioner, official sources said.

The selection committee, comprising Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi and Rural Development Minister Rustam Singh, met here yesterday.

Kathmandu, Feb 21 (UNI) Amid countrywide protest and condemnation against King Gyanendra for his controversial statement, Nepal's Parliament urged the government to immediately take action against the King and declare Nepal a republic state. MP Budget anti-poor, anti-farmer: Oppn Leader

Bhopal, Mar 13 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi today said the state budget 2007-08 was ''anti-poor and anti-farmer'' and would lead to price rise in the state. Participating in the general debate on the budget, Ms Devi said raising tax on jaggery, hosiery, soaps and other essential items will lead to a rise in their prices. Nine-decade-old airport reopens next month

Bangkok, Feb 21 (UNI) Bangkok's former airport will reopen for domestic flights on March 25 as the capital's six-month-old Suvarnbhumi International Airport undergoes repairs to fix construction flaws. The Thai Cabinet has approved resumption of services at the nine-decade-old Don Muang airport with the national carrier moving domestic flights there along with three budget airlines. A total of 77 flights to destinations within Thailand will be offered daily at Don Muang by Thai Airways International, Nok Air, PB Air and One-To-Go.....
