Tin slab crosses Rs 700 in metal

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Tin slab crossed Rs 700 as metal prices rose alongwith London Metal Exchange on fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In ferrous section, copper heavy and brass cuttings edged up by Rs 500 per quintal each on higher advice. Brass utencil and copper utencil also hiked by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal due to better buying support.

In non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and aluminium ingot increased by Rs 500 and Rs 150 per quintal respectively and zinc slab and lead ingot also soared by Rs 100 each per quintal on reduced stock supply.

Tin slab and Nickel Cathode rose by Rs five and Rs 60 per kg on good demand from retailers.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 32,000, copper utensils - Rs 29,600, brass utensils - Rs 23,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,000 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 35,300, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, zinc slab Rs 18,300, lead ingots - Rs 8,500, tin slab - Rs 700 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 2,140 (per kg).

REL terminates drilling contract with Aban Offshore

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Reliance Industries today terminated its contract with Aban Offshore in relation to its drilling order, an official statement said here. The statement, however, did not mention any reasons for the move. Aban Offshore's rig was expected to start work based on the contract within a few weeks. Earlier in the day, RIL had informed the BSE regarding two new discoveries of hydrocarbon wells in the east coast blocks at Krishna Godavari basin in Andhra Pradesh......
