Three of marriage party killed in accident

Latehar, Mar 13 (UNI) Three people of a marriage party were killed and seven others seriously injured when a jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Borsidag village under Chandwa police station in Jharkhand's Latehar district today.

The jeep carrying the marriage party, including the newly-wed couple, was going from the state capital to Palamu when it collided with the truck that left two people killed on the spot, police said.

The other person succumbed to his injuries in hospital at Chandwara.

All the injured were admitted to hospital, police said, adding the bride and groom suffered minor injuries.

Asia needs $60 bln pa to improve urban infrastructure: ADB

Singapore, Mar 13 (UNI) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) today said about 60 billion dollars per year is needed to meet the demand for urban infrastructure services in Asia between 2006 and 2010. The urban infrastructure services include water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, slum upgrading, urban roads and mass transit systems. According to ADB, about 60 per cent of the urban Asian population lives in sprawling slums and squatter settlements while half of the population in major cities live.....
