Three HM activists arrested along with Rs 4.21 lakh hawala money

Jammu, Mar 13 (UNI) Three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), including two sisters of 'Chenab Divisional Commander', were arrested and Rs 4.21 lakh hawala money, one Thoraya satellite phone and a BSNL mobile were recovered from their possession at Ramban in Doda district, official sources said here today.

Official sources said, a joint naka was laid by sleuths of Central Intelligence Agency, Police and SOG and arrested them at Ramban who were waiting to take a vehicle for Gool.

The militants were identified as Mohammad Yousuf Bhat (Gool) his sister-in-laws Rajia Begum and Misra Begum (Ramban), sources said adding Rs 4.21 lakh hawala money, one satellite telephone and a BSNL mobile recovered from their possession.

The hawala consignment and telephones were given to them by a Hizbul Mujahideen 'District Commander' for Kulgam (Anantnag), Muneeb and were to be handed over to HM 'Divisional Commander' Mushtaq Ahmed at Gool. Mushtaq was brother-in-law of Mohd Yousuf Bhat and had replaced Billoo Gujjar after his killing last year.

Sources said all three hawala racketeers are being subjected to questioning and were likely to be sent to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) to ascertain their links with militants.

People in Kashmir resort to dry vegetables, fish

Srinagar, Mar 13 (UNI) People in Kashmir have once again resorted to vegetables and fish dried during summer and pulses as majority of the shops selling essential commodities, including meat, vegetables, milk, chicken and other eatables remained closed in the Valley due to closure of Srinagar-Jammu national highway. A large number of people were seen purchasing dried vegetables and fish from the market in the city. One killed,12 wounded as two dozen houses collapse in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 13 (UNI) One person was killed and 12 others wounded as more than two dozen houses collapsed due to heavy snowfall in overnight in the Kashmir valley, official sources said today. They said one Abdul Hamid was killed when a huge branch of chinar trees fell down due to heavy snowfall at Chandgam in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
