Steel Park to come up in Kustagi taluk in Koppal District

Bangalore, Mar 13 (UNI) A Steel Park will be set up at Kustagi in an area of 800 hectare land in Koppal district of Karnataka, Minister for Major and Medium Industries Katta Subramaniam Naidu announced today.

Speaking to newsmen, after releasing a new dairy brought out by the Industries and Commerce Department Employees Association here, he said the government had also decided to set up a Pharma Park in an area of 160 hectare and an Apparel Park in 120 hectare in Raichur.

An Investors Meet would be convened during the second week of April to discuss the possibilities about the investment for various projects, he added.

He said such investors meet had already been held covering central and coastal parts of the state to woo investors.

The Diary released by the Minister comprised various Government orders, Notifications and other details pertaining to the department including the new industrial policy 2006-11.

India, Australia discuss enhancing cooperation in mining sector

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) India and Australia today discussed the possibilities of further enhancing cooperation in the mining sector, by encouraging mutual investment by Indian and Australian companies. Foreign Univs Bill To Ensure Quality

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) A Bill to ensure quality of higher education offered by foreign universities and prevent commercialisation will be introduced in the Budget session of Parliament, it was announced this evening. The foreign education providers bill is also intended to ensure stability of such efforts, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said. Details will be made public soon, he said. Chennai Sangamam invites papers on 'TN in 2020'

Chennai, Feb 22 (UNI) ''Chennai Sangamam'', a festival organised by ''Tamil Malayam'' and the Department of Tourism and Culture here, has invited vision papers from corporate leaders, academics, experts, bureaucrats and social activists on 'how Tamil Nadu should be in 2020'.
