Pirated CDs seized from a cable operator

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 12 (UNI) Police today raided the cable operator Surichetti Vijay's residence at Eajendranagar in the town and seized 1127 blue-films, CDs and 742 pirated cinema CDs.

According to Sub Divisional Police Officer P H D Ramakrishna, Vijay was getting the CDs from Antony at Paris in Chennai.

Mr Ramakrishna said the accused would be produced before the court.

In another incident three college students were arrested at Lalacheruvu Centre and five motor cycles were recovered from them, stolen from various places in the town.

He said two more students were at large and police were yet to recover from them one motorcycle and two cell phones. All worth more than Rs two lakh, he added.

Tribal encroachers increases to 14

Pathanamthitta, Feb 25 (UNI) Malaveda tribals who has encroached the revenue surplus land at Olikallu near here had set up three more huts today. With this, the number of encroaching tribal families rose to 14. The 10.87 acres of land allotted to 14 landless Malaveda families in the district was now under the illegal occupation of the inmates of Olikallu tribal colony. Two more fast track courts installed here

Barrackpore, Mar 13 (UNI) A pair of fast track courts for the additional district and session judges has been installed at the sub-divisional court complex here, bringing the number of fast track courts here up to six. District Judge Bandana Roy formally inaugurated the courts here yesterday and hoped that with two additional fast track courts the sub-divisional court would be able to dispos-of pending cases rapidly. Incidentally, none of the participants at the function could tell how many cases were.....

Maoist surrenders in AP

Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 25 (UNI) The banned CPI(Maoist) member A Pandugn alias Ajay (19) today surrendered before the District Superintendent of Police Vikramsingh Maane. Talking to newspersons here, Mr Maane said Pandugn hails from Nandraganda village at Krupam mandal in the district. The maoist was disgusted with the policies of his party , he added. Arms dealer nabbed, shell casings and tools siezed

Nadia, Mar 13 (UNI) CID and Shantipur police today raided an arms factory and arrested the arms dealer in Nishchintapur village im Shantipur today. Malay Ray was manufacturing and supplying pipe guns worth between Rs 1,000-1,200 for the past two years, police said. Police siezed some arms-making tools and recovered a few shell casings from his factory, which he converted from an old iron factory here. Investigation in the matter is on. UNI.....

Kolkata, Mar 13 (UNI) A bomb hoax disrupted train services at the Sealdah station for two hours today following the detection of an unclaimed bag in the general compartment of the down Gede-Sealdah local train.
