M&M to foray into passenger vehicle segment

Bhopal, Mar 13 (UNI) After the Sports Utility Vehicle segment, auto major Mahindra&Mahindra (M&M) is planning to launch low-priced passenger vehicles.

''The plan is to produce passenger cars in joint venture with a foreign company keeping in mind the purchasing power of consumers and their technological requirement,'' Senior General Manager (Sales) Bhartendu Kapoor told UNI here.

Mr Kapoor, who was here for the launch of a new variant of Bolero, said that the model had been made more attractive and comfortable. The Bolero possessed a special suspension and had better mileage.

Burnt counsellor dead

Jabalpur, Mar 13 (UNI) A counsellor who was doused with kerosene and set ablaze on March 6 at the local Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital, by a patient who was refused medicine, has died during treatment in Delhi, hospital sources said. Kaushal Kishore Jaiswal, who suspected himself to be an AIDS sufferer, was at the hospital for consultation and targeted Sanjay Shrivastav before fleeing. Geelani dismisses reports of his ill health

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Breakaway Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani today dismissed reports of his ill health, and said his health condition was fine. Mr Geelani told UNI that he had undergone a routine medical checkup at a city hospital and the doctors were satisfied with his health condition.
