Marad case probe for CBI: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today informed the Assembly that the government had decided to entrust the Marad carnage case to the CBI.

In a written reply, he said the government had decided to entrust the case to the CBI based on the recommendation of the Commission, which inquired into the Marad carnage incident.

Mr Achuthanandan said the government had not yet received any communication from the CBI informing their unwillingness to investigate the case.

The government had already sent a reminder to the Centre in this regard, he added.

Proposed waterway will be completed by Mar 2010: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today informed the Assembly that the proposed waterway between Tiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod will be completed by March 2010. In a written reply, he said works for calling tenders had already started for the first phase of work (2006-2007).
