Kashmir remains near normal, no militancy related incident

Srinagar, Mar 13 (UNI) The situation in Kashmir was near normal with no major report of any militancy-related incident during the past 24 hours.

There was no report of any militant attack from any part of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said.

He said, however, unidentified miscreants set on fire a middle school building at Ladoo Panzla in Baramulla district.

Security forces recovered two pistol rounds, two detonators and one binocular at Tral.

Unseasonal rainfall lash MP, 16 killed

Bhopal, Mar 13 (UNI) Sixteen people were killed when lightning struck them in separate incidents in the past 24 hours in Madhya Pradesh even as unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm lashed the state's northern and north-eastern part causing heavy damage to crops. Two women and three children of a family were killed after lightning struck them in Rewa, whereas four more people died in separate incidents there. In Sidhi, five people were killed and two injured. CM monitors current situation in high-level meeting

Snow and rain continues in HP

Shimla, Mar 13 (UNI) Shimla and its adjoining areas today experienced snowfall in March for the first time after 1998 when the town experienced over 60 cm of snow. Shimla Meteorological Department Director Manmohan Singh told UNI here that the state capital had recorded over 60 cm of snow on March 13, 1998.
